Transforming Our Guest Bedroom Into a Coastal Garden Retreat
Share
One of the first spaces I wanted to make feel special in our new home was the guest bedroom. While it started as a blank builder grade room, I envisioned a space that felt peaceful, welcoming, and inspired by both the gardens I love and our life by the coast.

The very first step in that transformation was adding wallpaper from Wall Blush. Wallpaper style: Rach - Peel & Stick LUXE - Save 10% purchasing here.
I chose a delicate botanical stripe pattern that instantly changed the feeling of the room. The soft floral design brings the charm of an English garden, while the simple color palette keeps the space feeling light, airy, and relaxed. It created the perfect backdrop for the vintage inspired spindle bed and layers of soft green textiles that followed.

What I love most about this wallpaper is how it adds character without overwhelming the room. It feels classic, fresh, and collected all at once. Every piece we’ve added since, from the gingham bedding to the antique wood tones and garden inspired accessories, has been chosen to complement the wallpaper and continue the story.

This room is still evolving, but it already feels like the coastal garden retreat I imagined. A place where guests can slow down, unwind, and feel right at home.
And the best part? It all started with wallpaper.

Stay tuned as I continue adding thrifted artwork, layered textiles, and cottage inspired details to complete this cozy guest bedroom makeover. Be sure to follow along over on my Instagram too friend, @krystlemarienickels - Happy decorating! xo, Krystle
